Miraculous Season 6 Review: A Bold, Messy, and Absolutely Essential New Chapter

My Overall Impression:

After the universe-altering finale of Season 5, I walked into Season 6 with a mix of sky-high excitement and genuine nervousness. Could the show possibly handle the fallout of Hawk Moth’s defeat and the long-awaited reveal between its leads? I am thrilled to report that not only does Season 6 rise to the occasion, but it also delivers the most ambitious, emotionally complex, and narratively dense season of Miraculous to date. It’s a messy, heartfelt, and absolutely essential new chapter that proves the show has truly grown up alongside its audience.

The Highs: What I Absolutely Loved:

For me, the undeniable heart of this season was finally seeing Marinette and Adrien navigate their relationship out in the open. The show doesn’t just hand us a simple “happily ever after.” Instead, we get fumbling first dates, the anxiety of public scrutiny, and Marinette’s trademark over-heroics hilariously clashing with her new girlfriend duties. It felt so real and earned. Adrien’s arc, in particular, was a standout. Watching him process his grief and search for a new purpose outside of his father’s shadow was profoundly moving. His journey from a hollowed-out model to a determined marathon runner felt like the most significant character growth we’ve seen from him yet.

On the villain front, Chrysalis (Lila Rossi) is a terrifying upgrade. She isn’t a grandstanding supervillain; she’s a venomous manipulator who slithers in the background, making every akumatization feel more personal and venomous. She is the perfect antagonist for a season focused on fractured trust and emotional turmoil.

The Growing Pains: A Few Minor Stumbles:

If I have one minor criticism, it’s that the season is almost too packed with ideas. The introduction of a clandestine society coveting the Miraculouses felt like a fascinating but slightly underdeveloped thread. While it sets up future conflicts, I felt it occasionally pulled focus from the core emotional stories of the main cast. With so many new heroes, returning villains, and intricate subplots, the pacing sometimes felt breakneck, leaving me wishing we had a little more time to breathe in the quieter character moments.

Spotlight on Key Arcs & Don’t-Miss Episodes:

The season truly shines in its multi-episode arcs. The opening two-parter, “Sparks of Passion / Stormy Horizons,” was a masterclass in blending superhero action with deep emotional stakes. Seeing Aurore Beauréal’s return as Climatiqueen, fueled by the toxic world of social media influencers, was a sharp and relevant commentary.

However, the episodes that will stick with me are “Harmony Heist / Toro’s Shadow.” Ivan’s family drama and his powerful debut as Minotaurox was a fantastic deep dive into a side character. But it was Marinette’s discovery of Gabriel’s confessional letter—”I am Hawk Moth, for love’s sake”—that truly floored me. Her decision to share it with Nathalie, and the resulting moral complexity, is the kind of mature storytelling I’ve been craving from this show.

Final Verdict & Recommendation:

Miraculous: Season 6 is a triumph. It expertly balances high-stakes action with the nuanced, messy realities of love, grief, and growing up. While it occasionally juggles more plotlines than it can handle, its emotional core is stronger than ever, anchored by the beautifully realized relationship between Marinette and Adrien. This season is a rich, rewarding experience that respects the long journey fans have been on while bravely pushing the story into uncharted territory.

This is a must-watch for any long-time fan of the series. You will not be disappointed. Final Score: 9/10
